Today is when we remember those brave men and women who have sacrificed to protect our freedom here in the United States. Let today be the day, like all other days, where we never forget that while we celebrate, enjoy time with loved ones, gather at the beach, in the mountains, in the air, or in the comfort of our own homes, that we would not be able to do this if it were not for those who have sacrificed and left their comfort and loved ones behind, to fight and protect our freedom.

For many, this past weekend was filled with cookouts, fun at the beach, lunch dates, shopping, and watching movies while indulging in all the yummy treats at the movie theatres. Furthermore, while Memorial Day/weekend will always be viewed as the time to indulge with discounts on all types of services and products, I ask you today, on Memorial Day, to take a moment, close your eyes, and picture your life, as you see it, today. Aside from the fact that you are where you are today, all because of your efforts, remember that while many other individuals in other countries are not able to relax and do the things we can do here, in America, our service members sacrifice their lives, so that we can live in comfort. Today is not a day that should go left unappreciated; rather, it should be a day where you give a moment of silence to give genuine thanks to those who have lost their lives, those men and women, children, mothers, and fathers, who lost their loved ones to the service of our country. So, before you enjoy your third day off work, remember why you have the freedom to do so.

Let us take a moment and give thanks. Happy Memorial Day!

GRATITUDE

I thank my husband for his sacrifice, service of nearly 17 years, and continued service in the community! I have been blessed to see him come home from each deployment. However, it has not always been an easy journey! At the homefront, the fear of deployments and lives lost can never be explained through words. It is purely an emotional-feeling-based situation. Unfortunately, he lost several wonderful friends who never made it back.

Furthermore, while many men and women do make it back, some are never the same. I am grateful to be married to a man who has never expressed selfishness or greed and will, to this day, do whatever he can to assist others who are training to become what he was and did in the military. Today, he works hard to mentor service members by providing physical and mental training that can assist their abilities to effectively perform in deployments and ease back into a healthy lifestyle at home.

I look forward to bringing him into Gravitational Performance to work alongside me and assist military professionals mentally and physically.
